Post a page that includes 3 images that have inspired you and also write a proposal for your idea. Explain the story you'd like to continue. What is the story of the book or art you're going to base the video on? How will you make this experimental? How will you twist the meaning or concept of the story? How will you be inspired by the original work of art?

The idea I want to play with in this project is how the storyline can be affected by alternative endings, or by elements that we do not expect. Below, I chose these three works because I felt that they offered me the greatest amount of options to go off of. The first is the Mona Lisa, by Leonardo DaVinci. We see that she is smiling rather coyly in the painting, but no one seems to know why. In my piece, I want to be able to play up that element of mystery, and the idea that the characters and people we see in paintings or read about in poems or books or any form of media do have a background story. The second is a representation of the poem "The Road Not Taken," by Robert Frost. This is one of my favorite poems, and I love the idea of taking a look deeper into a poem, because poems are always open for diverse interpretations. The final image is the cover of John Green's "The Fault in Our Stars," which is one of my favorite books. The "What if" game can be played up in a variety of ways here, as well. What if Hazel had died instead of Augustus? What if they both stayed healthy? Questions like this also add an element of intrigue.

My proposal is to use all of these ideas, but center in on "The Road Not Taken" to find out what would happen if the narrator took the road more travelled by instead, and where that would have lead him or her, twisting that meaning. I plan to play up this side of the story, and examine how every choice we make has an effect on our path in life. To make it experimental, I will create different music soundtracks to help convey mood. I will also ask my actors to really play up the emotion, to go above and beyond to convey our internal struggles. I intend to colorize the images as well, making the darker elements of the storyline feel more chaotic.

2. Robert Frost's "The Road Not Taken"

Two roads diverged in a yellow wood,And sorry I could not travel bothAnd be one traveler, long I stoodAnd looked down one as far as I couldTo where it bent in the undergrowth;
Then took the other, as just as fair,And having perhaps the better claim,Because it was grassy and wanted wear;Though as for that the passing thereHad worn them really about the same,
And both that morning equally layIn leaves no step had trodden black.Oh, I kept the first for another day!Yet knowing how way leads on to way,I doubted if I should ever come back.
I shall be telling this with a sighSomewhere ages and ages hence:Two roads diverged in a wood, and I—I took the one less traveled by,And that has made all the difference.
